The Magnolia neighborhood is located about 10 minutes by car from downtown Seattle. It's just across the ship canal from Ballard. Magnolia is bordered by the ship canal to the North, Puget Sound to the West and South and 15th Avenue to the East. Discovery Park is located at the West end of Magnolia overlooking Puget Sound. Daybreak Star, which is a United Indians of All Tribes Foundation cultural center is located in the park. Many ship yards and marine repair and service businesses as well as marinas are located on the ship canal to the North of Magnolia.
Shopping is minimal with the Magnolia Thriftway for groceries and small specialty shops and restaurants in the "Village". Living in Magnolia feels like your miles from a large city center even though you're only minutes away.
Homes range from bungalow, tudor, craftsman, modern, and contemporary designs and consist of single family, condo, and townhouse homes.
