Spring Market Activity

March 26th, 2008
If you're a renter who's considered becoming a home owner, or you're a homeowner looking to trade up, or an investor seeking to expand your holdings, now is a great time to make a purchase or acquisition.  Mortgage rates are at historical low percentages, and some sellers and builders are offering incentives to purchase.  This is a favorable equation for buyers at any stage of their real estate goals/plans.

Asking prices for homes continue to drop in most of the country, and to some extent here locally in the Seattle and surrounding areas.  New housing starts are down as are new home prices.  Part of what's driving

Marketing Your Home

February 11th, 2008
Are you considering marketing/listing your home this Spring? If so, take a tour of your home through the "eyes" of a buyer. Look at your home and remember why you bought it. What about it caught your eye? Now, boost those strong points in your prospective buyers eyes. Chances are they will be attracted to your home for the same reasons you first were. Are there any large items that need fixing or repair? Try to take care of these items before they become negotiation points for your prospective buyer. Items such as roof work or paint work are just a couple of important ones. Have you ever been to a new model home? Remember how they decorated? Usually

New Years Resolutions

January 8th, 2008
The new year is here!  what type of resolutions have you made for this year?  Me?  Due to my physical health I recently changed my lifestyle from one of inactivity with a "see food" diet to one of regular activity and healthful eating habits.  I've noticed quite a difference in the way I feel and have lost quite a few lb's to boot. My body and my wife thank me!       I'm sure a few of you have made the same resolution, and other good ones as well.  Making healthy changes to the way we live has many positive results on many aspects of our lives and those around

Maintenance

December 27th, 2007
As a friendly reminder, with the weather becoming colder and temps sometimes dipping into the freezing area, consider insulating your exterior faucets.  The easiest way is to purchase insulating covers from your local home improvement center and attaching them directly to your faucet hardware.  Much less expensive than dealing with frozen pipes!  The Seattle area is quite mild during the winter, but we do get freezing weather now and again. Buyers

November 30th, 2007
For you buyers.  What's most important to you when you are considering making an offer on a home?  Is price the most important facet?  That you're buying at a time when the market conditions are most favorable for a purchase?  A house that your family can call home?  Of course many will have different reasons and views on what is the most important.

I would suggest to you that one of the most important aspects is purchasing a house for your family to call home.   When the market slows or dips where prices are concerned you can look at this in a couple of positive ways.   #1, you've purchased

Closing Costs Certificate

November 9th, 2007
It's a great time to be a buyer in this current market.  Many sellers are offering concessions to buyers.  So if you're considering making a purchase don't be afraid to make your best offer.

In time for the holidays, I personally will contribute a certificate good for $1000 towards your closing costs if you hire me as your full service real estate advisor.  To qualify, the home selling price must be $350,000 or more, the contribution will be paid at time of escrow,  and only one certificate will be allowed per transaction.  Certificates are good for 5 years and they'll only be available
